Transit of Venus Disappointment

So, we were "mostly cloudy" this evening, so we weren't able to view the Transit of Venus.  But I was prepared to view and photograph it, anyway.  I had my camera all ready to go:

 A zoom lens, a #14 welding goggle lens, and a 2-inch flexible coupling (found at your local hardware store)

Goes on the camera very easily with just a screwdriver to tighten down the clamps on the coupling; one on the zoom lens, and one on the welding lens:

I even got a picture of the sun a couple of hours before the transit began:

Next time [I'll still be around in 2117, right?], I'll use a tripod.
