After we left the museum, Caleb saw the Washington Monument (you can't really miss it), and wanted to take a closer look. It was a beautiful, breezy, spring-like day, so we took a closer look. It's recently been re-opened after undergoing earthquake-related repairs. Usually, you have to get to the ticket office pretty early to pick up free, timed tickets; and since we hadn't planned to visit, there were no tickets available at 2:00 pm. Out of the blue, a couple who was there with their two kids offered us two extra tickets they had, since their friends ended up not coming! So, we actually got to go inside and up to the top. It's quite a view!
